Without You, There Is No Us

I picked this book up because of Jon Stewart and the Daily Show. He had the author, Suki Kim, on and interviewed her about it. It’s an astonishing account of her undercover work that she did in North Korea.

Posing as a schoolteacher, Kim uncovers the secretive world of this locked nation. She discovers that the university students that she teaches have no idea that the Internet exists. Like a spy thriller, she has to watch her every move and not have her cover blown, never knowing who she can and cannot trust.

This is an intriguing and fascinating look into the world’s most private countries.
