Not that this book needs any more publicity, but it’s been a week since its release and I was able to read it within that time frame, which says something! It’s a lot more fast paced than the first book, and dare I say, action-packed? Told in three different points of view, I found it to be much more of a companion to the hit TV series than to the original novel that it picks up from.
This could also be because it’s been years since I’ve read The Handmaid’s Tale, so I can’t recall all its details. Everything I relate to The Testaments is gleaned from the TV show. All in all, I found it to be a page-turner, and my only complaint would be that things seemed a little bit rushed at the end. I think fans would approve however.
This is probably what Game of Thrones fans wished author George R.R. Martin had been able to accomplish when that show was still on the air.
